Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Joshua-Wilder Will Not Happen, Joshua Should Fight Dubois

Veteran promoter Frank Warren does not expect a potential clash between heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder to come off. For the last few weeks, the battle of former champions was being negotiated to take place on a January date in Saudi Arabia.

I agree with Frank on the first point , Hearn has been blagging it with the Wilder fight when nothing really was in place other than an idea. And off the back of that fans bought into Joshua fighting low level Franklin and Helenis as warms ups for the promised show down with Wilder. Hearn simply lied...!

I thought DD was unlucky not to benefit from the body shot that I thought was borderline but not low , but then to see him fold as he did against Usyk was not reassuring that he's got the fire to continue threw a storm , it looked like he quit! But then to see Joshua , with his arms on the top ropes in the corner not moving and not responding to the referees clear instructions to fight on against Ruiz 1 , it seems lie a toss up , but in fairness to Joshua he did a much better job against Usyk than DD and did get up to win against old Wlad , showing a fighting heart and grit. I would fancy Joshua to win but he obviously isn't the same after the Ruiz mauling so I wouldn't put money on him.

Considering all AJ and Wilder have between them are highlight reels of them getting beat, the shine is gone. I think the Saudis had enough of Eddys sideshows, this one is for third place.

The Warren/Dubois situation reminds me a bit of Maloney/Price.

Wouldn’t be mad at a Dubois / AJ fight if it was non-PPV. There’s better fights out there though.

As shot as Joshua is recently, he still makes Dubois quit again dd doesn't like the heat and folds.

Kinda bummed this fight is not gonna come off even if it was 5 years too late. A Pre-Ruiz AJ and a Pre Fury Wilder - both undefeated would have been the biggest HW bout in decades. Even if it came off now it would be huge. I guess SA emptied their gas tank on the Fury fight coming up in October.

Not interested in seeing AJ very cautiously make Dubois quit.

Dubois has a lot of work to do before fighting a champ or former champ anytime soon. He should be fighting the Derek chisora Dillon whytes of the world max
