To keep you in public's mind, you must be active enough for them to see you, and keep them talking about you.
Only nine fight's in four year's, you aren't going to set the boxing world on fire with those anemic number's.
Well, not everyone is signing up to fight him. Mr ryder ran away, you're not going to find a prospect nor a good veteran willing to share the ring with the kid. And throw in the pandemic, there's your math.

This bum is 25 years old and with what 9 fights? Canelo at 25 had fought Gayweather, Lara and Trout. What has this bum done? At 26 Canelo fought GGG. Is this bum going to fight someone like that next year? When’s his next fight?
If canelo has the balls he could be what Mayweather was for ginger, but we all know canelo doesn't have frauds pelotas.

That wasn't the case. It was his first fight with Shields, the trainer wanted to know him better, two fights later he gave the okay. They didn't wait 5 years ir 20 fights later. Two fights, one year. What changed?

Look, the thing about Canelo is he has challenged himself more than most other boxers. So lets give him his credit for that. I actually like him as a fighter. But, and there's a huge BUT. ---- It needs to be put into context and people need to read between the lines. Yes, he didn't have to go to LHW but he did because he saw weaknesses in both Bivol and Kovalev. Look at it this way - nobody has really seen any weaknesses in Beterbiev and has that name has never even crossed Canelo's lips?

Then look at the talk of going up to face Makabu, the weakest CW when Makabu was champion. Then look when Jack is champion at CW, he wants a 180lb catchweight.

Lara nearly went wrong as a pick and I think that was the tipping point. After that fight the matchmaking has became more conservative. Still some risks, but calculated risks.
The judges save the pick, especially the one that saw Lara winning 3 rounds.

              Canelo vs GGG - Sept 16, 2017

1 year, 10 months, 1 day. Where the hell do you get 2.5 years?

Gayweather/Pac were welterweight champs for how long before they fought?

Crawford won the WBO championship on Jun 9, 2018, Spence won it May 27, 2017, and how long did that one take to make?

Beterbiev won his first world title on 11 Nov 2017, Bivol won, no scratch that, he was elevated to world champion status late 2017 - and they still haven't fought?

But of course all of them get a pass, Crawford has dudes wanting to suck his d.ick for beating a zombie weight drained past his prime Spence instead of fighting him before the car accident, Beterbiev and Bivol get all sorts of excuses and passes as to why they can't or won't fight each other.
So the norm is not to fight the biggest threat?

This is not like him going to 175 and losing there where he can save face, if he looses after bringing someone up 2 divisions he has no excuses.

40 year old GGG and Ryder were really soft touches, easy tune ups and Canelo looked like trash in them.
I agreed 100% with you. They might not see it, but if he lose this fight, game over, and they have been wrong before, see Lara, ggg 1&2 and bivol.

I bet my boy Morrell wouldn't look that much dangerous against some of the people cinnabon has fought. When is he fighting btw? His handlers def need to get him better fights ,would hate to see this young talent turned into another Andrade 2.0.

Paisano, you know they will never let berlanga in the ring with Morrell Jr. And he doesn't fight more often because it is hard to find him opponents. By the way, there's a kid, his father was an amateur back in Cuba, fighting tonight on SHOBOX. Rojas is his last name.

There’s always someone willing to fight. As for Berlanga, I don’t doubt they’d want to keep him away from someone like Morrell. Should be a bad loss. Thanks for the heads-up on Rojas. There seem to be a lot of young Cuban fighters coming up.
