Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor on Rebounding from Lopez Loss: I Have Plenty of Option; Just Had a Bad Night

Josh Taylor believes he simply had a "bad night" when he lost to Teofimo Lopez earlier this summer. The former undisputed 140-pound champion from Scotland still thinks he is the best in the division and is hoping to move onto bigger money fights, possibly at the 147-pound limit.

Taylor did not have a bad night. He was exposed for being the overrated boxer that he is. He was sound enough to climb within the ranks, but he is not good enough to continuously beat the very best at the top of the division. He will have more losses against the upper echelon boxers in his weight class.

He also had a very bad night against Jack Catterall who beat him like a rented mule even worse than Lopez did. Jack is his daddy and Josh knows it.

Taylor is not a bad fighter but he has issues with counterpunchers that have a bit of movement. He does better when they come at him but has not shown that he can adjust effectively. Even in the beating he took against Lopez he was still trying to win.

The tart torn ass hole will never improve from now on out, his ego won’t let him learn from his mistakes he just always points the blame somewhere else, just had an off night is such a pathetic excuse for a so called champion.

              Good fighter

Too much inactivity, too many injuries, too many tough fights in a short space of time.

We've seen the best of Taylor. He's on the slide. But he was very good at his peak.

Guess it’s easier to pretend it was a bad night than to acknowledge you just weren’t good enough.

Agreed...I was extremely impressed with his performance against Prograis and considered him a top5-10 p4p fighter after the fight. However, his career seems to have fallen off a cliff ever since Catterall took his soul and Teofimo took his hope. Very difficult for him to bounce back from especially in the stacked 147lbs division where he'll be taken out with ease based on his recent performances. He has to PROVE his greatness just like Teofimo did after bouncing back from the Kambosos fight and conquering another division.
