Mannix is legit. I wish these guys could report what caused Martin to pull out. Because I don’t see Tank fighting Martin at this moment. He’s too high risk low reward but if Martin beats Shakur he jumps to the front of the line as a potential opponent for Tank. The whole situation is disappointing and that’s why I hate boxing sometimes.

It’s not like PBC is saving dude because he’s a potential superstar or something. I didn’t think he was all that impressive in his last fight. So why turn down a million bucks? From what I know about boxing politics is somehow involved.

Not sure where Frank finds more than a million dollar offer and for who. For now he's ducking Shakur.

Tank is the easy assumption. Probably make more vs Tank in fact.

That said it doesn't sound like Tank vs Frank is next based on this new news of why Shakur vs Frank isn't happening so its a gamble that he gets that fight anytime soon or at all.

I say this every day lately, but it always feels relevant & ppl love ignoring it so it feels worth being repeated til ppl accept reality. At this level boxing is a business not a sport so this is less about ducking & more about maximizing your income. And while a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush sometimes that bush has more than 2 birds for you to find too. So basically in a styles make fights way of thinking I believe Frank gets paid more vs Tank while also matching up well with him to have a better chance to upset him than he'd have vs Shakur. Also with all these belts likely about to be dropped by Devin sooner or later, there is more value in Frank fighting a lesser guy to win one & make more money in a unified or undisputed fight in the future vs Shakur or whoever. Not condoning or condemning Frank here, but business is business too.

I honestly don’t see Tank taking any fight that presents that level of risk and marginal reward. There is nothing to gain from him fighting Martin. To your point about the business of boxing, I don’t expect Tank to challenge a serious opponent any time soon. No pursuit of Haney, Shakur, Loma, Teo, a Cruz rematch or even Martin. He will try to drag someone like Inoue from three weight classes down up to 135, or cherry pick an MMA scrapper like Sean O’Malley. If Haney drops all the belts at 135 he fights a hyped up opponent for one of the vacant belts.

I give no fooks about the Pitbull rematch but that sounds like next. Martin is on the short list. And Shakur is a super fight & probably one of the biggest 135lb or less fights in boxing history when Shakur bumps up his name value with casual fans over the next year or two. just encourages fighters to not reveal anything about negotiations going forward

if they are gonna paraded as duckers if negotiations fail at any stage for whatever reason we are not privy to , then why would they reveal anything, its gonna be "no comment" and no info given to public in future

to say frank martin ducked shakur is so short - sighted, we all kno thats not what happened, can tell by way frank martin is, he wouldnt duck anybody. probably his team prevented fight from happening for whatever reason

I wouldn't be surprised if he loses it in his first defense. Too many killers in this division. You could argue the whole top 5 beats him, minus Aljo. His resume is very lacking. The only guy who had a weaker road on the way up was probably Conor & his road had waaaaay more legit guys. He's fought 3 real guys. Aljo who he just won a belt from. Vera who beat him. And Yan who shoulda gotten the dec over him but, imho & most fans, got robbed. Aljo's boy Merab is his #1 contender & is an absolute beast who many think is a lot better than Aljo. Yan is top 5 & deserves a rematch. CCC is top 5 & a legend. Sandhagen is top 5 & a wild mfer. The UFC can only protect him so much now that he gots a belt.

The best move if they want him to keep the belt longer is a Aljo rematch or skipping over all those killers in the top 5 & fighting Vera who's #6 to avenge his L, but is kinda seen as a much easier fight than the top 5.
