Comments Thread For: Gustavo Lemos Removed From IBF Lightweight Mandatory Position

Gustavo Lemos is no longer in the lightweight title picture. IBF officials have confirmed to BoxingScene.com that the unbeaten Argentinean lightweight is no longer the mandatory challenger. The most recent ratings update saw Lemos removed altogether from the IBF Top 15 after he blew weight and was forced out of a planned August 18 stay-busy bout in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

It was a calculated duck. It makes sense to get an easy belt to delay the Shakur fight. He can fight shakeur next year on ppv then retire. Canelo is doing the same thing with benavidez. Delaying the fight as long as he can until he has no choice then he can take his ass whooping then retire.

So, hypothetically, what happens if Haney loses to Prograis, and then finds he can't make 135 any more? Ryan Garcia fight?
