Good fight. Mendoza should be planning on the only avenue to victory - by stoppage.
Not because of judges in Australia, because of Tszyu's superior skillset.
I don't see mendoza going over to australia and beating tszyu. mendoza's style is perfect for tim.
I agree, Harrison only last 9 rounds because of his reach, excellent jab and constant movement. Mendoza will stand in front of Tszyu and get destroyed.
I think Tim will win this, but you definitely can't count Mendoza out. Brian is right that he has some attributes Tszyu hasn't experienced before, namely true KO power, and maybe a true warrior fighting spirit. I'm looking forward to this one. Should be a ****er. I expect someone to get KO'd.
Mendoza hasn't faced an opponent as good as Tszyu, he'll be the one who gets exposed.
It was perfect for Fundora too, who was easily winning the fight, until that BOMB!!! Mendoza is capable of landing that on Tim at any time because Tszyu is lacking defensively, and doesn't have near the size advantages of Fundora.
Tszyu is not lacking defensively, he makes risk v reward judgements, he'll be aware of Mendoza's power and mitigate it accordingly. People don't give Tszyu anywhere near enough credit for his boxing intelligence.
I agree, it should be a good matchup, and height and size are not the same as can be seen in the Charlo and Cinnabon fight, but Fundora 's ridiculously large height and reach with decent skills, gave him advantages no other fighter in the division has.
Unfortunately Fundora doesn't use his height and reach effectively, he'll never win another fight at 154 unless he fights bums.
