Really hate this Super/Regular crap. This is the sort of thing that screwed Teo out of being Undisputed at 135 when he beat the WBC "franchise" champion.

Notice the part where he can avoid his mandatory for an "extended" period of time. Coincidence when Barboza vs Ramirez is in the works? I think not.

Can't blame Teo for chasing that Canelo status, but these damn sanctioning bodies, man..

Not remotely similar. This isn’t another belt. No one else is the WBO world champion. It didn’t effect Crawford when he was super at 147lbs. And no one cared when Taylor, Usyk etc were WBO super champions. No one cared when Inoue was super champ at bantamweight, no one would care if Inoue was made (if he already isn’t) super champ at 122. If anything it’s seen as a perk due to being able to challenge the champions in the surrounding divisions.

Good move. The Super Champion should be no.1 challenger for the Super Duper Champion and Super Duper Champion together with the Ultra Super Champion are the mandatory challengers for the Tag Team Championship. Go WBO!

No it isn't cause its not a separate belt hes still the legit wbo champ. Whereas franchise was a sep made up belt messing everything up

Teo deserves it if it means bigger fights he fought the best fighter at 135 and 140 and won both clearly. I don't think its been asked for to fight Bud.i think its bud goingto 154 for rematch potentually means vacated belts, which then means Teo can get first shot at the wbo against whoever is next in rankings.

Teo got the best resume at them weights he aint ducked anyone

I think that when Crawford vacates the 147lb. title, Teo steps up to 147lb. for a title shot!

The only issue I have with it is the #1 contender sometimes seems to be pushed aside for a champ moving up. This usually results in some decent fights. So glad boo boo wasnt able to do this at 168, but on the flip side Loma and Usyk get to dare to be great(among others)

I actually cant find a lot of fault in how they choose these super champs either. Definitely doesn't have the stank of the wba or wbc. I personally favor the wbo and ibf out of the orgs as they actually seem to have rules they follow. It wasnt super popular for usyk to get an aj shot and definitely not a money fight compared to what's out there. But they stuck to their rule and the rest is history.

I was speaking on how the sanctioning bodies pick and choose what belts mean what and the type of bull**** that comes it.
