How so? To be honest with you, I don't even think Berto could beat JMM at 147. The guy is that sorry. He's all hype and no substance. If you don't believe me, look at how his corner tried to adjust his glove to keep him from getting KOd by Cosme Rivera. Zab Judah and Alfredo Angulo handled that dude with ease. I know that most of Floyd's fans won't give Mosley any credit for beating Berto. You probably will though, since you are one of the few who think he is underrated. To each their own.

Now you just talking nonsense. Yea I agree that Berto is not all that. And, I believe Shane would KO Berto. Even after a 1yr layoff. But, Berto would destroy JMM at 147. I am not even sure JMM could beat a top 20 WW.

You have your opinion and I have mine. Collazo has no pop and he almost knocked Berto down. And yeah, Hatton has a glass jaw too.

I don't know what is your point about Collazo. I agree Berto is not all that. But, yet I think Collazo beats JMM at 147. So to say JMM would beat Berto at 147 is a stretch. JMM is too small, too slow, not enough power, and too sluggish to beat a top 20 WW. Yes I do believe Collazo hits harder at 147 than JMM hits at 147. P4P JMM is a harder hitter. But, 147 give me Collazo. Berto destroys JMM at 147. JMM can't hang with a top 20 WW.

              To the thread question,

Well, it's quite possible that a long layoff could affect an aging fighter. There's two things that certainly kill fighters and that's aging and long layoffs, it erodes ones reflexes, Mosley looks like the type that likes to stay in shape though, so we'll see.

I do think Mosley will have problems with Berto though, I see Shane having a hard time getting off against the speedy Berto and Berto's athleticism alone might be enough to beat Shane.

It'll be interesting though if and when Shane starts connecting with those jackhammer punches of his, I ain't seen Berto's chin tested by a fighter with that kind of punching power.

In my opinion, he should have took a stay-busy fight.

i think the answer might be in the question..i mean shane is 38 now and he might need a long rest after fights...he says he has 3 dates in on hbo next year..i doubt he will fight more than 2wice simply because at that age its hard to do 3 training camps a year

Mosley will do alright. May be a little rusty first two rounds, but he'll do okey. he always does.

Regardless of who would win between JMM and Berto at least we can all agree that Berto poses no threat to Shane.
