Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson-Frank Martin: Top Rank, TGB Come To Agreement For Fight On ESPN

BoxingScene.com has learned that Bob Arum's Top Rank Inc. and Tom Brown's TBG Promotions came to a financial agreement on a Shakur Stevenson-Frank Martin lightweight title fight at the 11th hour late Tuesday morning. A WBC purse bid for their intriguing lightweight championship match, scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, was therefore canceled. Stevenson (20-0, 10 KOs) and Martin (18-0, 12 KOs) will meet in a 135-pound title fight that ESPN will televise as part of its exclusive content partnership with Top Rank.

Top tank getting it done as always.

        Hopefully it's an entertaining scrap

Wow this is huge. I can't wait for this. I have Shakur winning but Frank is a monster.

Martin got nothing at PBC, except high risk, low reward fighters like De Los Santos and Bulldog Cruz.
Ellerbe and Tank won't even throw a bone to their deserving fellow PBC fighters like Martin.

Good decision by Martin and his team.

Let's hope we have more of these fights being ordered by these sanctioning orgs to keep things moving.
Glad to see promoters cooperating, not thumb their noses at or completely ignore fights that are ordered.

Oh wow. What a pleasant surprise. Only downside here is the fight will be on ESPN. wish it was on showtime instead.

Great fight! Two undefeated fighters fighting in their prime, what the sport should be all about.
