Nowadays there are PPVs with no belts on the line, Wilder - Helenius comes to my mind. I am sure there many people who will pay to see Spence, probably, got spanked again. Milking the cow...

The wbo is stripping Mell, maybe bud and spence can fight for the vacant wbo belt

I don't get this guy, hope I'm wrong but, I doubt he ever comes back to 154 and not because he will beat Canelo. If I were Bud, I'd fight Tim first get a belt then give Spence his rematch.

Close all escape routes in case Mell does come back to 154. I think Mell will go to 160 and try to be undisputed again. If so, Bud should let him marinate and get all the belts at 154 before getting boxed in. After that take his final 2 fights at 160 vs Mell and possibly for no belts.

Just my theory, since something doesn't add up..there is info missing from the Charlo side that stops me from truly believing Mell. Could just be that his promoter wants to max out the return on his investment or the ship is sinking (James already hinted that he's on his way out the business). Something doesn't feel right with that camp/gym.

Spence is not going to do 147, TCs ego will say I can beat him at 154 anyway, and TC is looking at Charlo or Canello at much higher weights so a move up for Spence while not risking titles is a smart move, these guys are bigger than the belts now TC has them he won't care and Spence will not go at 147.
