With beterbiev’s age it’s even more annoying than usual that boxing politics continue to get in the way of a meaningful fight. Callum Smith has no business being a mandatory at 175 and the WBC’s stance on the Russia/Ukraine situation is corny as fk. The boxers have nothing to do with the war and their stance on righteousness is straight bullshyt as they are known as one the most corrupt organizations in boxing.

It's nothing to do with Eddie

Bob Arum said he wont make the fight until it can be undisputed...but the WBC won't let Bivol fight for the belt because he's still a Russian citizen, where as Beterbiev is "Canadian". The ironic part is Bivol didn't even live in Russia until he was a teenager. He was born in Kyrgyzstan, his dad is Moldovan and mother is Korean. He's basically as Russian as Beterbiev is Canadian.

So you can blame Arum for the excuse and the WBC being prejudice against someone because of their nationality.

But even before the disgraceful actions of the WBC, Bob was saying he doesnt want the Bivol fight for Beterbiev because he said Bivol is boring, which we know is translation for thinking his guy might get schooled. But now hes hiding behind the WBC reason.

Hearn has nothing to do with it. Smith was mandatory and it went to purse bid, which Bob Arum won.
