I think Fres lost his mandatory spot after he won the purse bid to stage the fight and then never did.

I may be wrong. I know he was scheduled to fight twice… Once vs Charr and once vs Briggs… and both guys failed their tests. But also later he was supposed to fight Charr, bid like a million bucks to stage the fight… and never did.

I think we're all missing the real story here: Charr insulted the WBA's president and the president's dead father, and in return they made him champion.

So it sounds like the WBA was on track to lose their suit and had to settle. Love that part.

This story never ends. I love how every few months a new update on this soap opera emerges. The thing is nobody care about this ****** title! I do wish somehow that Fres could be given the belt.

Need the WBASS (WBSS) Charr, Miller, Fres, Briggs, Bryan, Browne, Stiverne & Guidry. Call up Lovejoy & Pricey as alternates

I can even see Price winning this somehow.

If it's a legality then I suppose the WBA have to either go with it or be sued.
The idea of a super series makes sense so how about.
                  Charr.
                  Bakoli.
                  Ajagba.
                  Anderson.
                  Parker.
                  Makhmudez.
                  Sanchez & H.Fury (reserves)

It looks real bad for the WBA, but they have not carried how the look in years. UGLY.
