He'll get credit for sure. But at the end of the day he's beating smaller guys, especially Crawford. That's a 3 weight class jump. Now if Crawford beats Canelo, well now we got something, assuming Canelo doesn't look completely past it against Charlo.

No. Mell was always limited boi who lost to Harrison and Castano. Crawford is easy to hit at 147 and has low output. His counters will be slower due to weight and will get neutralized by Canelo's defense.

Benavidez is huge dosser who walks around 200. Canelo will get his main credit from him.

I think most boxing fans have a high level of respect for Canelo. He gets credit.
