like the saying goes "it's never to late to go the college".. but i think pac should sit this one out... if he wanted to do this he should have looked into it 10 years ago. i know he wants to get this win under his belt but this does nothing for him.. winning the Olympic for boxing at 44 + years old aint nothing to brag about. and then if he loses on point, that;s abother story,

Olympics are for amateurs, not retired professionals

I wonder if Manny even knows who Conor Benn is.

I think boxing has a different history where professionals were not allowed to compete until 2016. But I always thought that boxing in the Olympics always meant amateurs. And, a springboard to a professional career - - if they are good enough.

I guess Manny just can't let it go after being beat by such a pedestrian boxer like Ugas. Maybe they can start a "Legends/Senior" boxing circuit like in professional golf. And of course, four or five sanctioning bodies so we can have multiple champions.

I agree but basketball and baseball Olympics have established all-stars and superstar players participating.

If Pacquiao does this, he can start a positive trend of big name boxing stars in the Olympics. Plus, imagine the big marketing for an amateur who beats a pro in the Olympics? Basically free marketing.

I think pros in the Olympics would be great for boxing. As of right now, the extra marketing we have in boxing right now comes from Youtubers and MMA fighters entering boxing.
