Ruiz and Wilder both only earned like 70-80K ppv in their last fights. Neither are a draw without a big name.
Ruiz is crying the offer was low but didnt even say what the offer was or what the split was.
All I know is that him demanding 10 million is ludicrous, there isnt enough money for them to guarantee that.
DAZN and the like ruined boxing and fighters expectations. DAZN overpaid fighters to the point that they lost a ton of investor money. Obviously that had to come to an end and boxing PPV are way down from like 5 years ago in better economic times.
Fighters are going to have to negotiate on PPV split and not demand insane guarantees. I get that 5 years ago DAZN was paying GGG 20 million to fight scrubs but those days are over.
Everyone want to be a mayweather, canelo or DLH but forget those guys actually sold PPV. you cant come making demands when you sell 80kComment

It's all about supply and demand. Ruiz is not active enough and in his last two fights he struggled with fighters who Wilder stopped inside the distance. He will be a longshot underdog. Take the 10 million and invest your money wisely, because he won't see another 8-digit payday again. Wilder will knock him out in 6 rounds or less.Comment

Fight was not meant to happen no matter what. Wilder has put all his eggs in the Joshua basket.
Same Joshua who Winkel and Wilder didn't want anything to do with. Shirley couldn't even stand Hearn.
They finally realized Joshua is their only remaining money fight, and Shirley is now friendly with Eddie.Last edited by rickJen; 09-01-2023, 11:33 AM.Comment

Just saw both of their ppv #s
Wilder 2.4 mill total
Ruiz 2.2 mill total
Wilder highest was vs Fury 1.2 mill
Ruiz highest was vs AJ 1.6 mill
Basically the same
wilder out his damn mind. This really should be 50/50. But since Wilder is b!tching, give Andy 40%Comment

Ruiz is no fluke, but he has work to do to regain proper respect from the masses. Boxing is tough, even when you're very good. I like Ruiz better a bit overweight but light-footed and swinging, like he was before the AJ upset. He's a tough out for most.Comment
