Yeah this is how I see it too.

He was hardly gonna walk Crawford who was utterly zoned in and focused onto a big shot. He did what he had to I think with the skills and style he's got. It isn't like he didn't punch with Crawford. He did. He took plenty of risks to try and find the shot that might have spun it.

He had a s.hit night and got pummelled by a great fighter.

When will people understand that coaches are insignificant compared to the fighter they don't make or break.

Take ATG fighters and remove their coach and they're still top class because top class boxers are smart and ideally should have had teachings from many coaches and most importantly understand themselves and how to harness their ability to the max. AJ thinks he can jump trainer and change but no...he'll always be a big bum.

On most occasions, Derrick James is the cool guy in the room. He sits back, barely says a single word, because he can't figure out what he's suppose to say.

Terence Crawford is my guy, but he needs to really drop the nice guy act, and call out that sheet fighter who lucked up and a figure head position with Spence and the Charloes.

Spence lost because James, "had no plan."
And, "my timing was off", is nothing but an excuse by a grown ask man.

Now, when one has nothing to lose, or duck about anymore, but can make a easy cash out pay day getting another beat down...hey go for it.

He told him to stop throwing looping shots because he knew that was getting him hit flush with counters. He told him to not stay in front of him when he wasn't working. And much more. Spence was to disorientated to fully follow those instructions.

Was his body drained and after the knockdown just in shock? Don't know. We know we never seen him look that bad nor Crawford look that good. Even vs much less talented fighters. This is why the rematch is intriguing. The question needs to be answered was something seriously wrong with Spence or has Crawford elevated his game.

Virgil Hunter against Kovalev 1 was some of the best corner coaching that stands out to me. Bomac has always been cold. Go look at his assessment in the corner vs Benavidez. Bomac knows wtf he's talking about.

You make a really good point right here.

Although i'm not so sure it's fits this case.
I've heard a few known coaches in the gyms tell me that alot of times " it's the Fighters who make the Coaches ".

You understand how many fighters have actually pulled a win in such positions, its so easy to sit there talking sht after the fact, its a very tough call when to pull an elite fighter out of a fight when its not going well.
