Comments Thread For: Usyk: If The Referee Started To Count, I Would Have Definitely Jumped Up!
It was the shot heard around the boxing world when British heavyweight challenger Daniel Dubois dropped Ukrainian champion Oleksandr Usyk in Poland.

Facts are, Usyk is a warrior so he would have tried to get up while Dubois has a tendancy to quit under pressure.
Regardless of the debate around a low blow, the right outcome for boxing was delivered.
I'd hate to have seen an undisputed fight between Dubois and Fury.
Usyk didn’t cheat doe. For all of the teasing that I’ve done on Usyks fans, we don’t know if he would’ve gotten up or not had the ref started counting. I can joke that he didn’t get up, but I don’t know the heart of a man until he shows it in the ring. It was ruled low so he reacted with the ruling. Whether he was faking or not we can’t say that he wouldn’t have gotten up real talk. But I k ow that this irked Usyks fans so I chided them on that lol….
Definitely it didn't hit the balls but it was lower than the belt (possibly lower than the belly). Anyway two things 1) usyk exaggerated his state when on the canvas and 2) he had a worse night vs Dubois than vs AJ
Usyk won. I think usy k can give rematch someday. If usy k wins rematch, the 1st fight will always be controversial no matter what. But rematch is least that usy k can give
So when he got up holding onto the ropes and took a step after 3 minutes of being on the floor, it was all a pretence? Either you’ve been smashed in the balls and are in agony, or you’re not. Nobody is ‘jumping up’ in seconds after being punched in the balls by a heavyweight.
