Comments Thread For: Crawford on Fighting Canelo at 168: 'Why Is It Ridiculous? I Meant What I Said'

Terence Crawford doesn't understand why boxing fans are so incredulous at the thought of him facing Canelo Alvarez. In the wake of his career-defining ninth-round stoppage of Errol Spence Jr. last month, Crawford, the newly crowned undisputed welterweight champion, turned heads recently when he expressed his desire to take on Alvarez, the undisputed 168-pound champion.

By the time it happens and Bud whips him easily, people will say Alvarez was old and Bud got him at the right time.

Hope it happens. Love to see Bud retire Canelo and Bud get the paycheck.

Crawford said of his career. “I don’t know right now I’m still wishy washy. I don’t know where my career is going.
Got to respect the self-awareness - we can't help but fully agree with this statement.

Canelo just made 33. Bud will be 35 next month!

I'm just surprised as before spence fight nobody thought bud was ambitious. But if course people hoped he'd be confident enough to take Nell on at 168. But to be frank we thought 160 would be ok

Looks like Crawford is enjoying himself eating lots of foods he likes with no constraints,
therefore he's getting fat. He's taller than Canelo and at his age a 172 lbs walking weight is not far-fetched.

Canelo is around 40 physically. Years of weight drains and games, PED's, and dude had a crazy amateur career.

No one beats father time but Bud is alot younger in terms of health and wear and tear. Plus Canelo had battles with GGG and Bivol kicked his ass.

It's not a Crawford-Alvarez fight. It would be an Alvarez-Crawford fight. P4P don't matter. Crawford would be seeking Alvarez unified belts.

if crawford was jumping up to 168 to fight a prime ward or calzaghe i would say its ******... however he can outbox canelo quite easily i believe they are the same height too
