LOL. Do you have dyslexia maybe? Or was that a one off? Not criticizing/joking, rather just asking out of curiosity and concern. I don't dig the overall style of hip-hop he does much, but it's on par with plenty of stuff that is pretty popular with people.
Nah I don't. I had a headache all day and it just didn't immediately compute that it was Slink Proper. Doesn't help that I've never seen those two words together so it was a derpy moment for me.
After seeing him on Pro Box TV podcast boasting about how he fights guys with winning records, I looked up the W-L record of Slink Proper's opponents. It was ABYSMAL. And he got KO'd by the dude who even though had spoiled a fight or two for supposed quality prospects, still had a horrible record of 19-27. So what does that even amount to when the guys with winning records have them b/c they've fought absolute stiffs? I wrote, "he better look good vs. Sona "Slink Proper" Akale because his 7-1 record at age 35 was vs. absolute bums making their debut or with losing records, including getting KO'd in his last fight by a guy with a 19-27 record." Welp..."The Grandson of Ali" should now officially be relegated to off-tv fights like every other club fighter at this level. Everytime they announced him as "Grandson of Ali" I thought of how Jimmie Vaughn can't go anywhere without being introduced as, "Stevie Ray Vaughn's brother". Although that is worse b/c Jimmie Vaughn is actually a legend in his own right and it's disgusting to me that they don't let the man stand on his own merit.
Dude's name is Nico Walsh. He added "Ali" to his name for clout.
They put him on TV in the main portion of boxing cards against absolute no-hopers trying to sell him as some good boxer to get ratings. The dude was not a good boxer and his name isn't Ali.
The whole thing was dishonest and a disgrace from the get-go.
If I had to hear Joe Tess emphatically introduce him as, "Nico Ali-Walsh - the grandson of Muhammad Ali" one more time I was going to puke. I don't dislike Walsh, but for God's sake man. Hopefully he disappears from TV for awhile, works on his craft, and if he ultimately earns his way back into any level of respectability, good for him. But nobody else would be even talked about, let alone get consistent national tv exposure with his accomplishments to this point and it sucks.
If you have someone really make it in America, their bloodline will be privileged. Nico Ali Walsh is a privileged American. Top Rank, ESPN, it's all a privilege. It wasn't earned by him. It was earned by his predecessors.
