Biggest problem with boxing is when the fighters become cash cows ,they get to call to many shots. Bread's ok with Crawford picking who he fights next, how then can you really determine who the best fighter is at the present?

Bread really showed his ass and how easily his ego is bruised on that first reply. He is knowledgeable in boxing but by no means a grandmaster and has NEVER FOUGHT A ROUND IN HIS LIFE. It’s always the wanna be’s who will talk about who they know, “the street” and what they’re “ truly capable of” but at the end of the day he will never know what it’s like to compete in the chamber of truth, and it’s not like he can’t, he can easily take all his “knowledge” and compete in the amateurs in the masters division but his ego won’t let him take the risk even if it means understanding his fighters at a much deeper lvl. Before anyone brings up all the trainers who never fought keep in mind many competed at a high lvl in the armatures. I question the manhood and integrity of all these people and key board warriors who won’t take a simple armature fight against someone who’s never competed or at least a smoker but will talk all kinds of trash. I guess it’s far easier to stay broke and argue about promotional companies and fighters that have 0 respect for those who never did it. At the end of the day I never went pro or won a world title but I been in there and did it for over 2 decades and can wear my gloves around my neck and damn near every notable gym in the city his my picture on the wall

Bread said something last week that I’ve said many many times - who did Spence beat to earn a shot at Brook?
You can add tons of example to that. Who did Avanesyan, Khan, Kavaliauskas, Brook beat to earn a shot at Bud?
Who did Mikey Garcia beat to earn a shot at Spence?
Boots is the highest ranked WW contender. Which “notable” wins does he need?
casuals are those who never stepped foot in a ring and competed on the books

Got his ass kicked by Bivol, a guy at the weight Canelo should be fighting at and that he only fought because he knew Bivol isn't a huge puncher. Fight Biev if you want greatness. But he won't because he isn't great. He is a very good fighter and has some good wins. He is just waaay overhyped. 18 champions is great, but the state of boxing today does not mean 18 great fighters. No one should ever say Canelo is not a good fighter. He just isn't near an all time great.

Boots apparently has never triggered his mandatory. Eye test he is really damn good. Agree with Bread, not saying he isn't ready for the shot. But people screaming for Boots to get his shot....Bud spent literally years at WW waiting for Spence. He is 36. He is looking for big money fights. He is going to amost certainly vacate and go up for Charlo, maybe even Canelo. Boots is not a big money fight. Everyone screaming as if Bud needs to fight Boots now, maybe he will? But he just beat Spence and deserves to choose the biggest money he can get. He hasn't been sitting on the belts for years lol, he just won them.

You butthurt Spence fans sound ridiculous in your quest to see Bud beaten. He will stop Boots, of that I am almost certain. Villa was tagging boots and Villa is about ten levels below Bud. But we get it, you are salivating to see Bud beat and believe Boots will be the guy. Ok, fair enough. But calm down and at least let Bud choose his opponents on money, he is 36 and spent years being froze out.
You forgot to mention Canelo’s failed PED test that he blamed on tainted meat.

nothing tops fighting Floyd even if he lost
Bud has never even come close to losing. And he just near murdered the #4 P4P guy. Canelo legitimately lost to GGG twice, many people debate a few of his other fights, and Bivol made him look silly. And Bivol is Canelo's natural weight class, where he should be fighting.

I loved Floyd, but the tail end of his career was weak. And he really drew in the first Maidana fight and it can be argued he lost.

yeah I don't agree that ANY fighter should not fight the best guys and get to choose who they fight. its a dumb idea.

I can tell you two trainers that NEVER competed in the amateurs and this is off the top of my head. Pretty sure I can pull up a dozen if I researched it.
Enzo Calzaghe trained his son into the HOF and possibly ATG echelon.
Buboy Fernando’s, PAC’s childhood friend took over the reigns and trained PAC. Before PAC went to Roach, guess who his trainer was, you guessed it right if you said Buboy.

I also don’t think Tito’s dad was a boxer but I could be wrong.
There are people that just have a natural knack for certain things. And I believe Bread is one of them.

I taught Political Science some time ago. I never once used a text book to give reference or context and my degree was just a formality so I could teach. There was absolutely nothing I studied that taught me something I didn’t know. Just a knack of reading history and following global affairs.

There are tons of untrained mechanics that can fix just about anything, especially in the so called Third World nations where 99% do not have a mechanical engineering degree.

If we were to go with that argument, I’d say 100% of people would pick Floyd to be a better analyst than Malignaggi but he’s not. Not even close. I don’t even think Floyd can be a better trainer than Malignaggi, with all his historical repertoire.

Trinidad’s pops actually was a pro boxer. Fought Salvador Sanchez. He wasn’t very good but had 16 fights I believe.
