Seriously, how much better is Martinez than Quintana? Im asking this because Im wondering if Clottey is an idiot. He's fighting a very dangerous guy in Quintana, probably for cheap and with nothing to gain while I think he couldve fought a very similar guy in Martinez for probably more money and the 154 pound bout. Now Clottey is right about the weight thing but Clottey isnt a small guy by any means and Martinez isnt Mike Tyson. Clottey acts like Martinez is this big monster who could possibly pound him into submission. Thats not his style at all. IDK about this one. I know Martinez looks very good sometimes but other times he has looked like straight garbage. You couldve still had left the belt and came down to WW anytime you wanted or you couldve stayed at 154 for a big money fight with Williams possibly if you had won. I also think he could give Spinks hell right now. I just think the Martinez fight is pretty much similar to the Quintana fight but with so much more to gain
Serious Question?

I don't mind watching Martinez or Quintana against Clottey. I just think that Clottey wanted to stick to 147 because of the bigger paychecks. There are alot of fighters at 154 but do not have the name recognition. Clottey knows that if he beats Quintana it will lead to bigger fights (Berto, Mosley). -
In a word? Much. And bigger.
After Floyd, martinez might be the most frustrating guy to fight in those divisions. He will drop his hands, taunt you, use excellent skills, and make you look silly.
Plus, he has surprising pop. Remember how he really KO'd Cintron, and Kermit thought it was a head-butt.
Clottey can't beat Sergio. If martinez is sharp and focused, he cleans Clottey out.

Dude, that was probably one of the worst fights Ive ever seen. I thought both guys looked like total garbage in that fight. Thats one of the reasons I made this thread. Cintron has no skills and totally sucks against Southpaws while Martinez looked so basic. Also, Quintana did beat the biggest legend in boxing by far and thats Paul Williams. He got KO early in the 2nd fight but that was one punch. That could happened any time but he beat Williams pretty easily over 12 hardfought rounds and I thought he landed some good shots again in the 2nd fight before it was overIn a word? Much. And bigger.

You can tell by his shadow=boxing that he is very fluid:

I would say Quintana is maybe more technically skilled than Martinez but Sergio is bigger, faster, seems to hit as hard as most headbutts......it is easily a more dangerous fight than Quintana for Clottey, but at least Clottey could get a belt if he wins. What will he get if he beat Quintana other than the paycheck and a win on his resume? Nothing more to bargain with at the negotiations table for bigger fights.Comment
