Although to be fair, Canelo ducked the Bivol rematch. Canelo doesnt even rematch fighters people think he lost to and got a gift win, I.e Lara and GGG 2 (I know he finally took it when GGG was about 50).
So we know doesn't avenge his defeats and doesn't run back his gift wins. So if he Charlo won, Canelo might not even want a rematch.
I still don't think Charlo v Crawford happens at 154. I really hope so, but it's never really good idea to go up two weights and back down, it never works out well. Once Charlo gets the Canelo money and faces the prospect of having to drop two weight classes, I don't see it happening.
I'll be extremely surprised to see him below 160 ever again.JuniorTorres720 likes this.

He wouldn't even need to come in at the 168 limit. IF Crawford could be solid and carry the weight even in the low 160s without losing his better attributes, he has a good chance v a 168 Canelo
Canelo's has cement feet against an intelligent mover and in the last few years at 168, his style has become reliant on single shots. I knew he couldn't beat Bivol doing that. Bivol's feet and distance control are too good and you're never even going to catch him out with single shots.
Canelo's style of boxing today would play right into the hands of Crawford, tailor made in fact.
The only way todays Canelo beats Crawford is if Crawford just cant go up another 15lbs or so without diminishing his entire game. If he could be equally as effective as around 162 and he is now without losing too much, then this pot-shotting Canelo wouldn't have much for him and would get outboxed.
But its a big ask for someome to add another 15-20lbs and not lose a lot of their attributes.
That's why this p4p stuff is all pie in the sky. A 168 Crawford would likely be very sluggish compared to now, which means his speed becomes different, his footwork is different, ability to control range is different. Basically a very different fighter, just with the same name.

I can't hate on Charlo, he's chasing greatness by trying to become undisputed 2 weight classes above his own. He's lucky though because Canelo is not big at all and probably should be fighting at 160 himself.
