Comments Thread For: Gustavo Lemos Pulled From Fight After Missing Weight; IBF Mandatory Ranking Potentially At Risk

An effort by Gustavo Lemos to shake off ring rust has not only failed but could also jeopardize his current contender status. The unbeaten Argentinean lightweight badly missed weight which killed plans for a bout versus countryman Javier Jose Clavero. The two were due to meet Friday on a TyC Deportes telecast from Estadio Luna Park in Buenos Aires. However, Lemos was pulled from the show after he arrived eight pounds over the contracted limit and was unable to comply with a post weigh-in agreement to weigh 140 pounds.

Man 8 pounds! That dude is a natural welterweight after he cuts probably. I wouldn’t have even shown up to embarrass myself like that. Give me 3-5 business days to try that again! Damn!

I remember watching his fight against Lee Selby more than a year ago. I just found out he hasn't fought since then! Inactivity is one of the worst things that can happen to a fighter. It's not looking good for Lemos.
