    More boxing fans than usual tuned in Saturday night for a highly anticipated battle between Mexican warriors. Nielsen Media Research released figures Tuesday that indicated a peak audience of 884,000 watched ESPN's telecast of the Emanuel Navarrete-Oscar Valdez main event from Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The average audience for a 12-round, 130-pound title bout Navarrete won unanimously was 808,000, according to Nielsen.

        Not bad but not great.... Considering the UFC broadcast right before only pulled in 650k, it's not horrible, they gained viewership and the main event started right about midnight eastern time. It is what it is....

            It was an entertaining fight. A part of me doesn’t feel sympathy for Valdez because of his failed drug test a couple years ago. He popped clean for a banned substance. The fight prior he knocked out Berchelt in devastating fashion. That KO for me will always be tainted and what sucks is that it broke Berchelt. He never recovered from that KO. I believe in second chances but what Valdez did put the lives of Berchelt and others at risk. No different than the Antonio Margaritos of boxing.

              Tried my best to watch it live but Hulu kept hitting me with "We're having trouble playing this". Only for ESPN, of course.
