Comments Thread For: Hearn on Paul-Diaz: It Was Awful, They Wouldn't Win a UK Area Title, But Event Was Unbelievable

Promoter Eddie Hearn was holding his nose while watching Jake Paul's recent fight with MMA icon Nate Diaz. Earlier this month, Paul picked up a ten round unanimous decision win over Diaz, who was making his pro debut in boxing.

I don't think anyone expected more out of this fight. We all know the level is pretty low

Hate when promoters compare celebrity/mma boxing to professionals. Do we compare Harlem globetrotters to the nba?? They fight for the payday. All the UK regional/state title holders he’s considering them to would switch spots in a heartbeat.

It was pretty awful, from what I saw. Having said that, Jake Paul remains the slayer of former mma fighters in boxing. He's got that niche.

You know what you're watching, it's not guys in line for the world title.

Yet Jake is making more money than the cruiserweight world champions. That says something about the division, and the lack of skilled marketing with the other fighters.

Hearn is still salty over the fact he needed Jake Paul’s help to get Katie Taylor her biggest career payday - and also that Paul take shots at Dana White, whom Hearn pathetically fawns over and hero worships.

At least Paul is able to promote big fight cards that aren’t plagued by drug cheats and failed PED tests, which is more than Hearn can say lately.

I like Eddie, but he shouldn’t be calling that fight awful. Not after seen how awful that AJ fight was. That whole event stunk. And Aj is just become more boring every fight.
