Maybe cause it seems like Trinidad never "sold out" and never spoke English or tried. I'm not sure. I think it's odd when some times the fighter knows english but chooses not to speak in english and I've heard that some people feel you are selling out when you speak english. Me personally I don't care. I don't think its selling out. -
Speaking / not speaking english lol u kidding??? If it's true well thats just ****in laaaame!!!!!!Maybe cause it seems like Trinidad never "sold out" and never spoke English or tried. I'm not sure. He's also the complete opposite of Trinidad. He doesn't love the sport, and admits he only does it because it's his job. He says he fights for himself, whereas Trinidad said he fought for all of Puerto Rico, and he doesn't carry the flag to the ring all the time and pound his chest for his Country like Tito did.
Also, from what I've heard ; he's a much more quiet, reserved guy than Tito.Comment

Speaking English has nothing to do with it.
Trinidad's charisma simply can't be matched. He's a rare fighter that can conquer any language barrier purely on the love affair he shares with his fans. Trinidad LOVES the spotlight, and will literally spend hours signing autographs, posing for pictures, and speaking to anyone who will listen. It almost doesn't matter if you can't understand him or he, you.
That, coupled with many of the memorable moments he's provided, gives him a connection with the fans that few others in the sport can even match, never mind surpass.
That's pretty much it. No slight on Cotto, who's a boxing superstar in his own right.Comment

BIg fkin woop if he think it's just a job. IT IS JUST A JOB. I mean seriously how many people here love their jobs???? NONE. You still gota do it to feed family whats wrong with that?????^^^ This, coupled with this ;

Well, Tito loved the sport, as well as the spotlight.
Whereas Cotto doesn't care much for either.
That right there answers your question.Comment

Hey man I'm not the one that made it up. I heard it from other people not specifically about Cotto/Trinidad. I just heard that's why guys like Morales didn't speak English. I'm sure Mexicans hate DLH also for a bunch of reasons and that could be one of them and fighting Chavez...Speaking / not speaking english lol u kidding??? If it's true well thats just ****in laaaame!!!!!!

anyway. Trinidad brings excitement. When he knocks guys down the people feel like they are there celebrating with him. He is more charismatic while Cotto is more cerebral and just goes about "business".Comment

Tito's fans were worse.
Way worse.
I'd hate to see what "NSB" would look like during Tito's era.
I got enough of it from the Ricans I knew in real life as it was.Comment
