Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua Wants To Build Momentum For Wilder, Fury Fights: Inactivity 'Makes You Soft'

By Manouk Akopyan - The last time Anthony Joshua fought twice in the same calendar year was in 2019 when he suffered his first career loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. in the summer and rebounded later in the winter to regain the heavyweight titles. His Saturday night date almost slipped through his hands when original opponent Dillian Whyte was pulled from their planned rematch due to adverse findings in a random VADA drug test.

I'm just not that interested in seeing AJ fight Fury or Wilder anymore. Maybe 3 or so years ago but now...meh!

Says the man who's entire career has regular inactivity. 11 month's for an immediate rematch ffs.

Yeah 2018 when it was relevant. I'll never forget back then Eddie saying "Aj Wilder 2020, maybe he'll loose by then"

Joshua should be able to knockout Helenius, this coming Saturday in his back yard.
Beating Wilder, or Fury is more of a pipe dream, I see him getting knocked out by both of them.

the best thing for boxing would be for Josh to get knocked down and out in brutal fashion. It would put an end to this clown show -- will it happen no not even close but if there were justice in the fight game that would do it. Will i watch ? Not even a chance of it. There is celeb boxing (a clown show) female fights (keep it) bad match ups (sometimes it works) and then this falls under a whole new category of slime. If ever a fight deserves to be boycotted this one is it. I was going to go to a bar with friends to watch AJ-Whyte - haven't checked if we are still meeting up now its Helenius. But there is definitely massive casual interest in the HWs in Britain - and believe me , as long as neither badly loses, from here on out, if AJ-Fury gets made this will be the biggest money fight in Briish boxing history and likely biggest ppv figures ever in Britain. I can understand why Americans are not into AJ after the Ruiz fight - but why aren't Americans calling for Wilder-Ruiz more?

It's crazy this shlt division would be hyped up if they actually all fought each other instead of all fighting bums (not that any of em are great) but still

inactivity makes you soft and so does trying to live up to a different persona. Be yourself. The money is in the bank innit. There's a bad-man in there somewhere been dying to get out for over a decade.
