If Jermell is going to commit to fighting Canelo at 168 without much reason to go back down to 154, it doesn't seem hard to imagine a big Crawford being able to make 160 since he's naturally strong for his weight anyway. Jermall still has his belts and he's been inactive for a long time, he needs a fight very soon. Crawford would be giving up his size and reach advantage to go up against an inactive fighter so it isn't clear how close or how one sided it would be.
No matter how badly Spence took a beating, Crawford would be the one having to punch up against someone who is quicker of hands than Spence and naturally walks around at a heavier weight, so he wouldn't push him around the way he did Spence. If Jermell wins or loses he probably will go down to 160 where he'd be more competitive and if Crawford wins that would set up the next fight. Crawford is the one who's getting older too and that can be a bigger factor than what his performance would make you think.
