OK Tim (and other haters), what fighter @ 147, could be the fighter to give Boots that work, to prepare him for a fighter like Terence Crawford? Answer: NOBODY!

Canelo was 27 and had way more experience at the top level compared to Boots. Completely different situations. He's 26 years old with 32 fights, how is it too early? Canelo was 26 when he fought GGG. But I guess certain fighters from the Protecting Black Challengers organization and that have certain skin tons get passes, like Stank who's 28 and still hasn't fought anyone worth a damn.Comment

ok he was 27, and when he was 25/26 people all over the internet were crying and complaining about the fight not getting made. When will Boots have the experience? When he's 30 and Crawford's retiring?
Canelo was also 23 when he fought Gayweather, similar experience. But keep making excuses for them, they're going to end up like Andrade, the 35 year old prospect.Comment

That's a very good point. Enis against Crawford could be an excellent fight, and even if Enis loses (which I believe he would) it would be a fight that defines his future.Last edited by OldTerry; 08-04-2023, 09:08 AM.Comment

Boots is trying and is a mandatory and he needs the opportunity to prove himself at 147 against the top dogs. He is doing what every fighter in the history of the sport has done. Boots has to wait to see what happens with the Crawford and Spence rematch. Boots will fight for a title in 2024. What I see happening is Crawford may fight at 147 lbs before going up to 154 lbs to fight Charlo. If not, then Crawford could drop the titles moving up to 154 lbs and leave the scraps for Boots.Comment

It's pretty simple. Crawford is going to have to fight his mandatories, but there is an immediate rematch clause with Spence first. So we will all see how it plays out soon.
The people begging for the Crawford Boots fight really believe that Boots will beat him. Which is fine, but the fight isn't worth much to Bud. But if he is mandated and doesn't move up and vacate, the fight will happen in the next year or so.
Calm down. Boots will get his shot soon. In the meantime he should offer Thurman to fight, or maybe Ugas. He needs a name on his resume and those two guys would at least show where his skill level sits against former champs.Comment

Who had Frankie Randall fought before Chavez? Who had Honeyghan fought before curry? Who had Mosley fought before DLH? We could go on and on with this. Since the beginning of the sport and up and coming contenders have fought champions. It’s a foreign idea now because everyone wants to follow the Mayweather blueprintComment
