Comments Thread For: Jermell Charlo Wasn't Surprised To Get Canelo Fight: 'I Knew It Would Manifest, I Want All The Smoke'

Canelo Alvarez took the boxing world by storm on June 30 when he announced his upcoming fight against Jermell Charlo on social media. Many suggested that the announcement featured a gross error because, for an extended period of time, all signs pointed to Alvarez fighting Jermell's twin brother and WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo.

Unlikely Charlo can handle Canelo's power.

Money instead of honor. And they dare talk about legacy... This is the world we live in.

Don't underestimate Jermell in this fight. If he comes in moving side to side, boxes, uses his jab with a steady right hand behind it then he can pull off an upset. Canelo was not a career super middleweight but a fighter who got tired of losing weight down to the 154 weight division. If Charlo comes in at 165-166 lbs which is 10lbs above his normal weight division then he will be fine. He probably walks around at 180 lbs when he isn't in training. Charlo has to commit to not standing there and trading with Canelo as he typically has done in previous fight. If he does, then it will be a short night for him because Canelo can crack, it will give him that.

Canelo should win but it isn't a guarantee.

It's called prize fighting. Boxers fight for money, dummy.

if he wins it does a lot more for his legacy than Tim Tszyu who he wouldn't get credit for beatng anyway. He's the undisputed champion. That's legacy.

Charlo is a sad excuse of a champion. His injury was exaggerated and an excuse to duck Tszyu, he knew if he lost to Tszyu he would be embarrassed so losing to Canelo is easier to excuse, his bigger and consider in the top 3 pound for pound. He could of fought Tszyu earlier this year then Canelo but he probably would of lost to Tszyu.

Anyway that's how pathetic champions are these days most duck risky fights that's why you've got to respect both Spence and Crawford they put all on the line.
