  • Comments Thread For: Terence Crawford Finally Catches The Big Fish

By Corey Erdman - When boxing matches are referred to as "50/50 fights," quite often it's at the very least a slight exaggeration. The cruel reality of the sport of boxing is that most fights that take place are as far from a 50/50 proposition as will be allowed by a local commission. As for the ones we see on television, by and large the bout was made by a promoter who both

A few people, including myself, have been saying for a few years that Bud was a throwback fighter with all timer power and skill. And also saying that he would beat Spence rather easily. It feels good to see Bud finally get the recognition. After every one of his fights over the past few years, I just shook my head and said, how can people not see that this dude is incredible? He has ko power in both hands, the highest ring IQ of any boxer in the era, he is a world class finisher.

He's never had a rival to test him, and as many thought it would be Spence, he is a far better fighter than Spence ever was. I don't think anyone survives 12 rounds with him at 147 or 154. He almost certainly retires undefeated and as P4P #1, a first ballot HOF and a top 20 all timer.

Technically the first knockdown, but he got held up by the ropes vs Ugas and probably should've been ruled a knockdown.

Aside from buds obvious skill, this article is written so well, the structure and especially the metaphor of bud angling in the water. Dope.

fyi; after the stoppage when bud jumped on the ropes he was calling out charlo. I’m not sure what was said but I’m assuming it was along the lines of “I got your boy, you’re next!” Peep it, charlo right there few rows back. Bud takes his belts next. He’s on a historical run. Al can’t protect his stable any longer.

Still remember when Crawford was struggling and losing rounds to blown up featherweight Yuriorkis Gamboa.

He's never been a draw outside omaha. Signed and then willingly re-signed with bob. A geezer who did a horrible job promoting him, publicly dissed his own fighter on air, and called him a loss leader. Then delayed the Spence fight by over a year so he could collect a paycheck in a beyond meaningless sparring session.

By the time it finally happened Spence was coming off 2 car accidents, 15 months of inactivity, and killing himself to make the weight. Despite that, still thought Spence would win. Gotta give Crawford credit. He's come a long way and is undoubtedly P4P #1.

Na. Watch the ref during the replay. Protect yourself at all times but the ref yells “Stop”, and he reaches between the fighters. It’s only at “stop” that Spence reaches down.

              Bud did it first. Period.

One thing that Bud didn't do was fight orthodox. Great strategic move.

meh big drained fish, spence has always been over rated..what boxing skills does he have? He had his jab and once crawford took that away the fight was over, that's what crawford himself said after the fight. Boxing in general is weak, some middleweight (usyk) is ruling the HW division, and then this fight..what a circus show.
