Cruz looked fine, of course anyone with height and movement will give him problems. Cabrera just has a granite chin, Cruz landed several clean shots that would, at the very least, stun his opponent, but Cabrera just walked through them.

Cabrera could not land any single significant punch in the whole fight.

        The scorecards were crazy

The guy was clean of his face, Cabrera could not land any significant punch in the fight.

Cruz neutralized the offensive of his rival with a good guard, like a shell.

Cruz neutralized all the counter skills of Davis, and he ended that fight with his face clean.

Cruz is not like a MAidana or some brawler of this kind of style, he has a very good skills.

Cabrera is a 140 fighter, way bigger than Cruz and was dominated by pitbull.

          Cabrera has a solid chin.
Has a complete defense with his waist/head movement coupled with a very tight guard that he can use to parry/block shots.

Too bad about his offensive skills though, too reliant on using overhands and hooks. No jabs nor uppercuts. (Weird thing is that when he does apply a jab, he has good form. He just doesn't apply it often.)

Yeah, Cruz defense is good, look how he ends his fights, clean, very clean.

Cabrera could not land any significant punch but Cruz landed big shots all night.

I agree with you, bro, his defense is good, and was proven against a smart guy with great counter like Gervonta, Cruz blocked most of Gervonta shots and never was hurted.

And yeah, his offensive is with almost 0 jabs, thats bad, but he has very short arms.

Cruz is the fighter with best dempsey roll in all boxing, thats his style, a hard one.

I think people underrated him, I was one of them, i was thinking gervonta would kill him but that night he proven he has very good skills, but are hard to see for most of fans

Cabrera oddly would have won that fight if he just punched more. What a lesson he learned tonight in being overly defensive

Shorts arms or not, a jab would be very befinicial for him to be able to cut the ring and disrupt the opponent's pace. Also if Cruz threw uppercuts in the pocket, his opponents would have more difficulty applying a clinch and would always put him at advantage during the phone booth considering his short height.

I don't know, just think he should get a trainer like Alfredo Caballero, Nacho Beristain or Chepo Reynoso. Whoever is training him, is just polishing the skills that he already knows rather than implementing ones he might need at the top level.

If he just punched more, more spaces to be tagged by Cruz timming shots and style.

                    Its not that easy

even if he didnt get his stoppage like expected, he very clearly won damn near every round with landing the cleaner harder shots. the judges were garbage like always
