Comments Thread For: Haney To Pursue 140 Title Versus Prograis, Petitions WBC To Retain 135 Belt In Lieu Of Stevenson Mandatory

Devin Haney has made his decision. The WBC, however, has not. BoxingScene.com has learned that Haney will move forward with tentative plans to next challenge WBC junior welterweight titlist Regis Prograis (29-1, 24KOs). Their respective teams remain in talks for potential showdown later this fall.

Good for you Haney, right on young man. That’s awesome, I’m grateful for the 140 division. They Warriors willing to take the biggest challenge. While si do believe Matias is top dog, Lopez, Haney, Prograis all up there with him.

Tank would never have the sack to move up to 140 for Regis

What a surprise; after petitioning the WBC for more time to make up his mind on whether he is defending at 135 or moving up to 140, he's decided he wants to have his cake and eat it. He'll move up to 140, but hey, why can't the whole division at 135 just go on hold for him?

So obvious he was going to DUCK Shakur. And what a joke that he wants to keep his 135 belt.

Yeah, it Haney isn't going to give Loma a rematch that he deserves or fight Shakur, then he needs to relinquish the belts.

If Shakur is the Mando fight him. No reason to hold the belts hostage to fight at 140. Either defend or vacate. Both fights are intriguing for Haney but if he stays at 135 I rather see him against Stevenson.
