Fulton is no doubt elite. Every boxing expert, pro would agree.
    Dominating Roman, Leo... beating Figueora.
How he fights, his skills, experience, you can't deny it.
Anyone who is considered the best in the wgt class is elite.

With all that said, he got dominated by Inoue.
Nor does he deserve a rematch.

    Inoue is a generational talent.

There's zero need for a rematch when one guy loses every minute of every round. Inoue has new mountains to conquer.
When have you ever seen a guy get totally dominated and get a rematch ? Except for Kambosos who was smart enough to have it in the contract versus Haney. There's no reason to believe that Inoue vs Fulton goes any different in a rematch. Fulton had his chance .

WBA "Regular" Champion @ 135. Same belt Daniel DuBois, David Morrell Jr., and Eimanatas Stanionis have.

Did Fulton treat Inoue like that?

So your argument is that Fullton deserves a rematch because he didn't ask for a rematch clause?

You skipped Charles Martin. He went to the UK to defend against Joshua. Wheres his rematch?
You skipped over the fact that Usyk was Joshua's mandatory, so Joshua had to fight him!

My argument is that Inoue ( and Top Rank) should grant Fulton a rematch in the U.S. because Fulton, as CHAMPION agreed to a) Fight him in Japan, and b) Fight him on ESPN. We don't get CHAMPIONS who conduct themselves like Fulton everyday! Rarely does a CHAMPION "cross the street," and travel to the challenger's backyard, and all without a rematch clause! It's my opinion that good behavior SHOULD (not a must) be rewarded! For those who think otherwise, please don't cry when fights like Beterbiev vs. Bivol, and Tank vs. Shakur, don't get made!

I give props to Charles Martin for doing what he did, and he'll never get a rematch from Joshua, nor Jared Anderson! He'll be the Poster Boy for those who want to avoid fights because of promotional issues, rematch clauses, etc! They'll say, "Look at what happened to Martin and Fulton!"

Fulton went in there and fought scared. I sense his nervousness and he let inoue do his thing.

Fulton got outclassed, but to his credit, he showed enough to suggest he might be able to do a bit better should a rematch occur with a more proactive mindset from the get-go. Inoue was dominant from the outset, but Fulton did begin to have better rounds as the fight progressed. Inoue was a deserved winner and totally nailed Fulton in the 8th, but I thought the 7th was possibly Fulton's best round.

Anyway, I can't begrudge him for doing what we want champs to do -- take on the best.
