Haney got a huge gift. He's a very privileged fighter. Defending robberies is bad for boxing.

A six punch combination in round 9 where he landed 4/6. When Loma got Haney on the ropes and threw combinations, he landed most of his punches. Where do people get this idea that Loma missed most of them?

Haney wasn't landing much at all. And how was he more consistent? It's not like he was throwing meaningfully more. Might have actually been throwing less. Haney did less than Loma, landed less. But because he threw his punches one at a time instead of in combination, people think he was more consistent. It's nonsensical.

Beating Joet Gonzalez does not impress me. Herring is a solid win, Valdez is a very good win. But an 8-4 win over Valdez hardly means you dominate Loma.
I'm sure that you are true fan of Loma, but damn, he in no way landed many effective punches other than rounds 10-11, everything else was one or two flashy combinations per round, with one or two punches actually landing. He was definitely only throwing in spurts and the rest of the time Haney was working the jab, straight right, and body shots. I have watched the fight too many times to count, and there's nothing that shows what you are saying happened.

            I agree with him.

Loma at this stage is not going to be able to overcome the size & speed & strength differences against Shakur, who's grown into his grown man body at this point.

But hey, I thought he'd lose an easy decision to Haney, so what do I know.

Maybe he can turn the clock back one more time.

Exactly, I really wanted to know why anyone would call that a robbery, and I came away knowing that biased fans were giving extra credit for it even being close. With Shakur, we won't have that problem; totally different attitude and determination to prove himself..

As much as I like Loma and I really thought Haney was going to out point Loma by something like 2-4 points. Haney lost that fight.
What separated Loma WASNT his skill. It was Haneys INABILITY to take a punch from a SMALL MAN.
I believe Shakur would out point OLD man Loma too but I don’t think he will take Loma’s punches any better.
They’re BOTH very gifted BOXERS not brawlers. I believe when Shakur meets his mirror image but with POWER. He will fold just like Haney.
Since all of Shakurs future opponents are pooseying out at this time and if he really wants to prove he is the best. Pick an opponent who is his equally fast, athletic and smart like Jamaine Ortiz. That’s the fight I want Shakur to take at this time. I think Ortiz is just as hungry as Shakur. I don’t think either camp want this fight though.
