  • Comments Thread For: Arum Says Shakur Stevenson Will Get 'Major Fight' This Year; Could Return Nov. 16

Bob Arum insists Shakur Stevenson will be involved in a significant fight later this year. The head of Top Rank Inc. suggested in a recent interview that Stevenson, a two-division titlist from Newark, New Jersey, who made his lightweight debut earlier this year, could face the likes of Devin Haney or Vasiliy Lomachenko in the fall.

Although he was slightly more entertaining against his last opponent, I still don't appreciate his style. If he stays in the pocket more and actually engages I might watch but it'd have to be against someone who actually has a chance to win. So far, with the exception of the Valdez fight his career has been underwhelming.

I think he’ll fight Loma after Devin vacates.

haney v shakur is really the fight to be made for the belts i would say, they may never get it on if they sail by each other, shakur started at 126 so he might struggle at 140 possibly

Fighting Shakur Stevenson will result in a loss for any fighter below 140lbs

Bob ain’t said a got dammm thing, and Lomachenko old as hell with like 3 losses now, can’t get any bigger than that! I didn’t here any of the young undefeated fighters names mentioned and this is a red hot division but we have to wait to see him out point Lomachenko. Bob I thought you were on the team, hell!

I think they'd fight for different vacant titles first
