Remember he was supposed to walk right through Kambosos, instead he was the one who left the ring all black, and blue, requiring stitches to boot.
Then he said he didn't want a rematch, what fighter say's that after losing his titles, and his undefeated record in a close fight?
No fighter says that, they always call for a immediate rematch, to avenge their loss, but Teo didn't want a part 2 versus Kambosos.
It's a testament to his fighting skills that he was able to beat Josh Taylor, because he was having a hard time with the two fights prior to winning the title.
I'm sure that you've read all of the post's, and comments about Teofimo's mental state, and many fans saying that Sandor Martin should of gotten the victory in their fight.
He was questioning himself out laud "Do I Even Have it Anymore", in the ring right after the Martin fight.
So it was a close fight, but it wasn't supposed to be close, Teo made all that noise prior to the fight, only to lose his undefeated record, his titles, and not want a rematch.
He did also say he wanted a rematch but no rematch clause in that mando and Kambosos agreed with Haney a fight.i think Kambosos and Teo will likely rematch sometime at 140

And yes i heard all the comments about his mental state etc i might have been one of the few who said Teo will win Taylor, i said he would win even before and straight after the Kambosos loss. Martin fight Teo did win. Either way him and his dad proved everyone wrong with Taylor wins and he still has the best resume out of those fighters around that division. Even i think he talked a lot of **** and saying **** he shouldn't have been but in terms or in the ring he's proved himself so far. He beat Nakatani who was a decent fighter and rated highly at that point. He beat Commey who had a high ko percentage was champ and also rated highly then. Loma was considered p4p 1 in a lot of his lists when he beat him. Then even after he moved up i remember when wbc ordered martin teo as a eliminator there were someone online claiming Teo will duck and Martin will retire him like he did Garcia, yet Teo took the Martin fight as a late replacement and although yeah didn't look his best i still think he did enough to win. Then beat Taylor who was the undisputed prior at Lineal

Lets see what happens next interested to see who these fighters at 135-140 fight, we got teo loma, loma haney, teo taylor, tank garcia. Hopefully that division can keep it up and Shakur also get in there and fight one of those top names.

I think it makes sense. A chance for revenge for Teo. A payday and a chance to prove it wasn't just luck for George.

Lets not forget the newly crowned IBF Champion Subriel Matias, who no one is calling out.
