Comments Thread For: Derrick James: "Kell Brook Was a Switch Hitter, Leonard Bundu, We Know How Those Ended"

Plenty of Terence Crawford's attributes are being praised ahead of his undisputed showdown against Errol Spence Jr. Who could blame them? Whether it's his ability to snipe his opponents from the outside or the violent KOs he scores against literally all of his welterweight opposition, the 35-year-old has simply mastered the sport of boxing. With that said, his smooth switch-hitting capabilities have been accentuated as of late.

I rate James as a trainer but Brook fought the entire fight orthodox and comparing Crawford to Bundu is completely absurd.

Right thinking the same. Starting to get the felling James worried. He was saying Crawford was a flashy glitzy fighter but the basics always wins in another article. Guess I always thought Terrance has superior basics super twitch reflexs the way he turns thos punches over, throws em str8 & sharp. Spence has size good power, over all skills definitely. Still won't be enough .

James is talking a lot more than usual too. Or at least from what I can remember from Spence’s previous fights.

If you’re able to switch stances that easily, you aren’t fighting anyone good. If he tries that on Spence idk if it will be successful like it has vs the C level and past prime fighters he’s faced.

Switching is a sign of confusion, desperation. If you can do that just for fun, you’re not fighting anyone

                What are you on about?

Switching is a sign of desperation only for people who suck at it. If you're actually good on both sides, it gives your opponent new looks and allows you to create and exploit new openings. There's not that many people who are really good at it, I'll grant, but Crawford is one of them. Have you ever been in a ring before?

It’s amazing how dismissive the Spence camp is… Errol and James and any of their protagonists… if it is or will be such a walk in the park, why not have taken such an easy fight a long time ago… instead of three years of that other side of the street

He acting a bit extra for this fight. it's seems out of character. It's odd to me what choose to speak on. I don't think he's figure out Crawford much at all. Hes emotionally invested, his emotional response were getting more. He might be a good trainer seriously but he seems confused and out of his element here. He's got AJ /Mell/Martin and who else ,? all training at the same time for various levels of big fights, So this what we get. + It's 100+ degrees out in Dallas these days it's affecting him
