    If Jones beats Hopkins...

Do you think Calzaghe would get alot more respect for the beating he gave RJJ?

If Cal wouldnt retired, he would be getting more respect as we speak. How do you see Jones/Hop playing out?

If Cal had of fought them when they were peaking he would of got heaps of respect , this old man stuff is just entertainment value , like if Leonard fought Hearns now its not legacy these guys are just cashing in on hype during the twilight of their careers .

a lot less respect for the hopkins win more likely. and if williams beats pavlik as well, then Joe's hopkins win will be severly discredited by his haters

Actually, to be honest, it shouldn't make much difference at all to Calzaghe's legacy because usually triangle theories are bull****.

I tend to think it would... It would make Joe's resounding victory over Jones more impressive to alot of people.

But, I think Hopkins will win...

If Jones beats Hopkins it wont necessarily mean Calzaghe beat the better Jones or even a good version of Jones. When fighters get old their performance levels go up and down the same as Pro Footballers/Soccer players, so its conceivable that they can look as poor as Jones did against Calz but peform better on a different night.

Take Shane Mosley, he he looked good/decent against Cotto but he looked horrible against Mayorga, infact there was a thread made on here before the fight saying "anyone fear for Mosley's life" and yet Mosley beat the **** out of Margarito.

no. one win doesnt change the fact that hes been washed up for years, i mean hes kept getting big fights so if he got lucky once it woudlnt mean he isnt washed up, it means he got lucky once. thats the only chance he has of beating hopkins, a lucky punch or a technical decision or something.
