Former bantamweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (40-7, 35KOs) is looking for a fresh start. After being knocked out in three rounds by then WBC super bantamweight champ Toshiaki Nishioka, Gonzalez was considering retirement. He returned to the ring on September 5 in Mexico as a featherweight, stopping Jose Francisco Mendoza in one round. He is now under the full-time guidance of Nacho Beristain, one of the best trainers in the sport. Gonzalez now trains out of Nachos' famous Romanza Gym in Mexico. [details]

Actually, he was and still one of my favorites to watch. I don't why he could not finish. He would always get caught by a perfect shot. tsk tsk tsk. -
I think so but his style is good. Just don't like that one good shot and he folds. He should seriously work on recovering but there is no way to really simulate that. Maybe boxing while drunk

well if he's ready to give it another shot then the change of trainer is a great thing. although it would've been a tough fight for marquez regardless against mayweather. i like what i saw in nacho on the 24/7 series.he definitely can add a little something to johnny's style.Comment
