Comments Thread For: Elvis Rodriguez Drops, Stop Viktor Postol in Seventh Round

Elvis Rodriguez produced the most noteworthy win of his career Saturday night. The Dominican southpaw stopped Ukrainian veteran Viktor Postol early in the seventh round of their Showtime co-feature at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Rodriguez (15-1-1, 13 KOs) dropped Postol with a right hook late in the sixth round and rocked the former WBC super lightweight champion with another right hook early in the seventh round, which prompted referee Celestino Ruiz to step between them to halt the action just 23 seconds into the seventh round.

I didn't think much of Postol when he was at his best.

Maybe time for postol to call it a day. Even tho it wasnt a great stoppage he's just being used as an opponent for these guys and he's a name on the record being a former world champion an that. 39 now wasn't really the greatest fighter in his prime 6-7 years ago anyway

The over/under was 8.5. Someone with big bucks to lose made the call.

Elvis did what he was supposed to do so no surprises there, eh most people did not like Postol before this fight and for good reasons. So Elvis moves on a work in progress much to learn no disrespect but that is exactly where he should be at this time.
