WBA 'regular' champion. Usually the WBA makes both champions fight to consolidate the belts

Frank got him in with Dinu who was somehow ranked top 2 in the WBA, think it was for some BS interim title, then they forced the fight with Trevor Bryan who was the regular champion.

Can’t really blame Dubois for taking the opportunity tbf. The WBA rankings are always trash.

Real reason? The WBA, Don King and Manuel Charr.

Charr had the "regular" (fake) version of the title. Then lost it because he failed a drug test. But the test wasn't handled properly, so the courts ruled he was still the (fake) champion.

Don King and the WBA are very close and conspired together to get the WBA to order Charr vs some bum named Trevor Bryant that was signed with King, but then refused to send over the right paperwork in order to prevent Charr from actually fighting for his belt in America, so the WBA let Bryant and Stiverne (another King fighter) fight for the belt. Charr filed a lawsuit.

Anyway, Bryant won but didn't get the call to fight Joshua, Fury, Wilder etc so they made the fight with DuBois, who was the mandatory for what I assume was handsome payday. King also tried to not pay DuBois for the fight, talking about some debt his promoter might have had outstanding from years ago. He eventually had to pay up.

So DuBois has the fake and Joshua and then Usyk had the real title, but in the meantime the WBA's corruption caught up with them, and they had to agree to get rid of their fake titles in order to stay and established sanctioning body.

They then started ordering real and fake holders of their WBA titles to fight each other and the winner would just become the real WBA champ (no more fake champs).

It is obvious for everybody that actually follows the sport. he became WBA mandatory beating regular WBA champ Bryan.
