Apparently you did not understand when I said that although a COUNTRY is considered Hispanic, an INDIVIDUAL is not considered Hispanic if they have NO Spanish blood. Although I admire what your family had done in the 1960's against the Nacionalista party much of the educational system was being converted into English already by U.S. government decree. The MAJORITY of the Philippines speaks Tagalog not Spanish. Spanish last names come from the Catholic religion which is Roman not Spanish. By your definition of Hispanic, If I were a Japanese man born in Mexico I'd be considered Hispanic.....
So I guess Filipinos have Spanish last name because Rome is in Spain and that the Pope at the time was Puerto Rican...lol... You are too funny, dog...
Umm yes, see thats where you are wrong in you're thinking... If you have Japanese ancestry and live in Mexico and grew up there, speak Spanish, and embrace identify with the culture then by the CURRENT ACCEPTED DEFINITION, you may be considered, hispanic..... Again, there is no requirment to have direct ancestry to SPAIN to be considered hispanic.... There in a nutshell is where you have been wrong....
