Legacy wise, I think Juan should retire. Pacs not gonna fight him again, at least I don't think, and there are no other real important fights out there. Why in God's name would he fight Ricky Hatton...maybe if he wants some $$$ but that is such a meaningless fight. His legacy is intact as a great lightweightComment

JMM actually needs to get back in the ring as soon as he can. And when he makes that effort, he will still probably go through at least a five month layoff because HBO dates are hard to come by. He doesn't have any room to turn down fights, or he'll end up like Shane Mosley has when it comes to not fighting for a long stretch. At his age, his skills will only erode after that happens. He is a little fighter unlike Shane Mosley. Shane can probably come back after long layoffs and still whip some ass because he fights at a higher weight division. He has been doing that for the last couple years. Mosley's average time in between fights is 9-11 months. Smaller fighters become shot a lot faster. It could be a double edged sword I guess, if JMM engages in more tooth and nail battles.Comment

he took a good 8 million home and is in no financial trouble. from some of his interviews it seems like does not show much interest when they ask him about his future plans. and nacho beristain said that jmm does not even want to think about boxing right now and wants to take a vacation. i can understand him, he fought a **** load of hard fights in a row and his training seems intense but as a fan, i wish he would suck it up and come back in at least 5 months. i just hope he comes back by May at least, 5 de mayo weekend at the staples or home depot for a title at 140 would be nice, thats 8 months of vacation.
he knows nothing else and loves nothing else
he will be back in early 2010.
