Comments Thread For: Dmitry Bivol Praises Anthony Yarde: "He's Getting Better and Better"

Dmitry Bivol didn't have too much planned on January 28th, so the WBA light heavyweight champion figured that he would plunk down on his sofa and watch his fellow countrymen in the ring.

It's a shame Yarde never started boxing earlier, he only had 12 amateur fights.

He's pretty decent seeing as he had very little background in boxing, picked it up late and turned pro not long after. Problem with that is youre always playing catch up and the flaws become evident at the top level.

Still, he's done pretty well with very little experience. Not everyone can be elite and ge isnt but he's given world champs a good fight as long as he lasted.

No reason he couldn't pick up a title if those belts get fragmented and he gets a fight with the right opponent, especially ones not named Bivol or Beterbiev.

Yarde like Joshua is not a natural fighter. athletes but not fighters. you can see them stiffen up against natural fighters in there.

Yarde is exciting as hell, gave Beterbiev a great fight, I’d watch Yarde-Bivol in a heartbeat.

I wonder if the "bodybuilder" types, big muscle guys, work on their flexibility. They all run out of gas too, bc those muscles take so much oxygen. The only guy I can remember who was super cut but had a lot of stamina was Holyfield, but he actually got tired as the muscles were bigger. One thing is that he worked a ton at building flexibility while building muscle. Ballet class, stretching, and Tim Hallmark stuff.

Holyfield took steroids. Those no doubt helped.

Extremely difficult to beat + personality of a doorknob + very clinical and technical style
