    Cotto Vs....Holt??

    Dino Duva of Duva Boxing:

“Demarcus Corley showed what good hand speed can do against Cotto. Kendall’s hands are even faster and now add in his incredible power and you’ve got a recipe for one heck of a fight. A superstar Puerto Rican champion on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade taking on an up-and-coming local boy at Madison Square Garden and live on HBO. Everybody else is campaigning to fight Cotto in June in New York and saying why they make sense as an opponent. Well, the fact is, no one makes more sense than Kendall Holt."

I think Holt needs to work on his defense before jumping in with Cotto. He's also already been starched by a puncher.

This is a fight I havent seen discussed on this board....
    any thoughts?

Why is Cotto's people putting him in the ring with mediocre fighters? It's time for him to step up to better competition. These fight with Holt will be another one-sided beating. I heard Witter called him out. He should fight him instead, but I think Arum is trying to protect him.

Maybe this is why he's fighting Corley again because there's skeptics out there that think he has a weak chin or that he isn't as good as everyone thought he was. I think that this has nothing to do with Bob Arum protecting him, it's about cotto himself wanting the rematch to shut non believers up. This is what many people wanted to see after the early stoppage. He's giving the people what they want. What's the problem now??

By the way Kendall is not ready. I live in th same city as him and have watched him train plenty of times to know that he's not ready.

You call Corley competition. What Corley hit him with was a hay-maker. Cotto almost ended that fight in the first round. IMO Corley in not competition.

Cotto is not fighting Holt it's Duva boxing that wants Cotto to fight Holt.

I saw Holt vs Diaz on Showbox. I think Holt's footwork (ie running like a madman to get the hell out of the way) will give Cotto trouble. Holt fights going backwards and will want Cotto to try to throw from too far away so Holt can counterpunch.

This has a chance to be a real stinker with Holt winning some rounds and everyone getting frustrated.

This also has a chance of Cotto cutting off the ring and blowing out Holt early.
