Why was Kell Brook attacked for fighting Golovkin and was never given any props?

Exactly! Didn’t he and Khan compete to see who could get knocked out the best in 2016??? Khan moved up to MW to get his clock cleaned by Canelo and Brook moved up to MW to get destroyed by Golovkin a few months later.

I swear those guys are weird! “Hey, if Khan can move up to MW and get knocked out, maybe I can do the same and win the fans over!” - Kell Brook (just my thoughts)

Nah. Not when Kell and Hearn finally realized they're not getting the Khan sweepstakes. It was Thurman who had no interest in fighting Brook, who was holding a title. He couldn't even mention his name. Thurman also wanted no part of Khan, who was with PBC at that time and was an established name. Thurman is a typical PBC fighter. So I now understand looking back.

I clearly remember Brook and Spence did back-and-forth exchanges on social media. (Thurman and Garcia just completed their fight at that time.)

Spence being the only PBC guy available, Brook wanted the fight right away, but Earl had to fight Bundu first as already mentioned. And that was what I was wondering about back then. Why Spence won't go directly to the Brook fight and just cancel the Bundu fight.

Brook got impatient, can no longer wait and fought Golovkin. Fast forward when their respective fights were over, Spence became the one pressing for the fight. But Kell was still nursing an eye injury and couldn't even train properly. In the end the Sheffield boxer relented due to pressures, even though he's still the A-side. Jermell would have taken a year to schedule the fight, or find an escape route like we've seen.

Wrong Thurman said in 16 and 17 he wanted to. Brook and Eddie never seriously wanted to. I all ready mentioned to you Brooks THREE defences even if you put aside mando, you can't tell me that is a guy and promoter who want the big names. GGG was a payday and was expected to lose. Spence he had to fight as was mando so either that or drop the belt. Like i said 1 decent win in Porter ill give him credit for even though he spent a lot of it hugging.

Khan would have beat Brook if it happened in 2015. Thurman would have beat him in 2017 and beat him today

You need to stop this nonsense.

Thurman wanted no part of either Brook or Khan. That's the truth. And when I say Thurman is a typical PBC fighter, it's Haymon who approves fights for them. Thurman himself said he was normally given a list of names. It's on youtube if it's still available.

Thurman himself fought a long list of bums before he stepped up and fought Porter. Look at the names he fought: Zaveck, Chavez, Karass, Diaz, Bundu, washed-up Guerrero, Collazo, etc. Are those names impressive to you?

No but still better than the bums Brook fought by far. And he beat Porter and Garcia within a year. His fight with Porter was much better none of the hugging Brook loved doing

He was supposed to fight his mandatory spence that year. He lied to fans that he is being avoided at welterweight and couldn't get fights the same way ggg was avoided at middleweight. which was a lie as well. He took the fight with ggg and then tried to avoid the spence fight after that, but was forced to do it or get stripped of his belts. He could have fought spence at a 100% had he not took that ggg fight.

That's a load of bullcrap. Read post #43 of this page for the explanation. You can check out the timeline on the web if you like. And read the previous pages in this thread.

Thurman is an entertaining fighter. Even at this late stage of his career I would still want to see him with all the top dogs in the division. And I'm still a huge fan. Even if Brook and Thurman wanted the fight at that time it would still not have been made because of promotional differences. I can accept that.

Definitely, much respect to Kell for going up against the prime version of Golovkin. The big disadvantage for the Charlos is that Jermell has been out of action for 18 months and Jermall has been out for 2 years.
