Comments Thread For: Charles Martin On Facing Anderson: Keep Barking Up That Same Tree - Be Careful What You Wish For

By Jake Donovan - Charles Martin always had a feeling he would land this fight. The vision of stepping in to face Jared Anderson on just twelve days' notice wasn't necessarily in his crystal ball, but the former IBF heavyweight titlist had this matchup on his radar for several months. It's normally Martin who takes the initiative to challenge other heavyweights, though often with little to no response from his intended targets.

If Anderson can't beat a 37 year old Martin then his hype is gonna vanish quicker than the oxygen of an imploding submersible.

Anderson has a habit of eating right hands while he generally pulverizes his opponents. Not sure if Martin’s the man to capitalize

My hope it that it turns into a fight, a ****er a surprise bout. Let there be blood, let there be knock downs , have the ref get into the middle of it all and get slapped a few times also. At least i can hope for something more then a 23YO going up against a 37 YO with the outcome being pre-determined. Yea that's the ticket have a lot of controversy and confusion in the ring in-between a slug fest. Will that happen my guess is as good as yours but it would be nice to see.....................Price of admission is my time on "Independence" weekend. I might how up or watch it later it depends.............

Technically this is a step up for Anderson, but is it?
I expect Martin to be laughing on the canvas just like the Aj fight or looking the other way like against Ortiz.

Good fight for Anderson. Everyone knows what Martin can and can't do. He is a big HW with power and shown to be more offensive as of late.

Anderson gets hit by C level boxers. Interesting to see how he takes being hit by A level

It is an interesting fight. But I do not see the battle torn brawler closer to 40 than his peak to really do more than keep the Young Lion honest. I can see Anderson even getting hurt by Martin. It would be a good test. But even if I do not buy into Anderson as the future, this should be anther win to his name.
