Really dumb. Mayweather hadn’t fought for HBO in years when they called it quits.

Poor planning by Hearn. Let's see who Canelo fights with PBC, pressure is on them to deliver now, should be easy as all the names at SMW are under same promoter. But doesn't always work that way...........

Man, DAZN is pretty much a wrap at this point in terms of boxing i would think. They would be smart to pivot their focus to whatever sport they can get. I opted out a while back when they jacked up their prices.

              Who is Canelo's CORE fanbase?

              Where are they based?

Do they have enough disposable income to pay $100 for one of his PPVs?

Canelo could fight a taco stand vendor and fill the Azteca stadium with 100,000 people but realistically they're not going to be spending more than $50 to watch him.

So where does the rest of Canelo's $25m purse come from....?

The organisers have to make a profit too......

Canelo's fights with Saunders and Smith were not on PPV.

Dazn were initially willing to pay fighters more than they necessarily generated in order to sign fighter and get subscribers. That may not have worked as well as they'd hoped so they have eased back on that now. Pretty simple. It was never going to be a permanent strategy anyway.
