2 was fine. Those guys just don't have anywhere near enough talent to be spread that thin.

Newly signed boxers also get signing-on bonus fees too so promoters become risk averse and try and protect them for as long as possible to try and recoup that investment. This means, we don't get to see how good these boxers really are for years and years because they're so protected by their managers and promoters (Khan, Josh Kelly, Joshua etc etc all sank at the deep end).

Tbh what matters to me as a UK boxing fan is that we consistently get British title fights made between our better fighters.

Whether or not a lot these guys make it to world class or not should take care of itself.

I'd you look at British light heavies for example - they should be fighting each other often. The fights will be good and gain traction and interest.

Joshua Buatsi's career for example has been so f.ucking boring and there was no need.

He could end up getting blasted out by Beterbiev before being involved in anything remotely interesting. Its not even really his fault.

It’s more the networks than the promoters. We used to have Warren, Maloney, Hatton, Hearn, Hobson etc but they were all on Sky so their fighters all fought each other. The only promoter who was non-Sky was Hennessy on Channel 5.

Now you have Sky, Channel 5, BT, and DAZN all with exclusive promoters. I was hoping Sky would become an open platform again post Matchroom but they’re tied in with Boxxer now.
